                            The Past Glove Book Line-Up

I am a retired college educator who developed a strong interest in glove collecting over the last 16 years.  I have collected vintage baseball and softball gloves and have put together a very unique glove collection that depicts the evolution of baseball glove and web styles from the 1880's through the mid 1950's, when the modern day ball glove evolved.

The author'collection includes over 110 different baseball gloves and over 40 different softball gloves. Each glove  offers its own uniqueness  and  together the gloves make up  "A Fielder's Dream Glove Collection".

My first book was written in 2006 and  titled,"A Fielder's Dream Glove Collection".  The second book was written in 2007,  and titled "A Visual History of Ball Gloves".

Both  the 2006 and 2007 printed  books are no longer available as they sold out.

The 1st edition of "Baseball Gloves Merge With America's Past" was written and printed in 2010. The 1st ed. was 60 pages cover to cover.  It is no longer available. It was written to appeal not only to the glove collector but to anyone (young or old) who might be interested in gloves, baseball history and American history.

"A Visual History of Ball Gloves" has been listed in SABR (Society for American Baseball Research) and "Baseball Gloves Merge with America's Past" has been listed in the SABR Bulletin. In addition  those books have been included at the Illinois State Library in the Illinois State Authors book collection.

To reach more readers I have revised and expanded  my 1st edition  book in 2011.  The new   book is titled  "Baseball Gloves Merge With America's Past, Expanded Edition"  and is now available in a  Printed book format, CD -Version  and  downloadable PDF-Version.   In making the Expanded Edition, I completely re-shot the photos of all the individual gloves from my previous book using  different  glove backgrounds and camera techniques. The individual gloves were re-shot from both front and back  views and  the book includes  well over 500 glove related  color images. The glove loft shots remain the same as in my previous 1st ed. book and the glove evolution content is essentially the same. The "What's In the Book" section of this website offers examples of the glove photos now found in this Expanded Edition. I have added a few more gloves to this expanded editon and a couple of new sections  focus on glove addiction and glove trades.

I want readers to be able to enjoy the old gloves, learn about America's past and still keep the learning process affordable.  I love the printed book but now available is both a CD -Version book (mailed via USPS) and also a PDF-Version book (mailed via email); further
reducing the cost of the learning experience.

Below are listed various states and countries in which someone  purchased my last glove book via ebay or elsewhere. Some states have had numerous people purchase the book within that particular state. Thanks to those who bought the last book. Enjoy!!!

AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, NE, ND, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA,TX, WA, UT,

Canada, France, Italy

During my tenure as a college instructor I received  the "Excellence Award" and "Who's Who Among America's Teachers Award".   I continue to do glove exhibits to help people learn more about the old gloves but the books offer a much more detailed visual learning experience through the many pictures and  glove descriptions.  This expanded version offers a powerful visual learning experience.

Lastly, I want to recognize my  book  reviewers who helped lend their glove expertise  in reviweing  the glove books.  Joe Phillips, The Glove Collector in Texas,  Jim Daniel and Rob Mucha (Mega-Collectors in California) all put forth much appreciated efforts into the glove books. David Denton, a history instructor at the community college where I worked many years,  reviewed the American history elements of my last glove book, "Baseball Gloves Merge With America's Past".

Enjoy checking out my website and exploring the unique hobby of glove collecting.
